Ramblin’ Man Fair 2019

19-21 July Mote Park Maidstone, UK

Ramblin’ Man Fair is by now a well-established, family friendly annual event and takes place for a weekend at the beautiful Maidstone Park which is one of the largest in South East England with more than 450 acres of parkland and a 30- acre lake, great connections to London and perfect for close and far festival goers.

Ramblin’ Man Fair 2019 was taking place on 19-21 July at Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent, UK.

In its first four years Ramblin’ Man Fair has already managed to host names like Scorpions, Dream Theater, Whitesnake, Black Stone Cherry, ZZ Top, Black Star Riders and plenty others. This year the festival was celebrating its fifth anniversary with headliners like the Britsh rockers The Darkness on Friday night; Black Stone Cherry, which were promoting their current proclaimed album Family Tree on Saturday night and English- American rock band Foreigner on Sunday night. All together over 50 bands of four stages!

Despite the moody weather whole day on Friday, the attendance did not suffer from it and why would a little rain stop anyone from rocking out with bands like The Lazys, The Wildhearts or The Darkness.

Artists this year over the weekend on the smaller stages included Vola, Scardust, Elles Bailey, Chantel McGregor, Wille And The Bandits, Allman Betts Band, Anathema, Crobot, Piston just to mention few.

Back to its usual time slot end of July (last year festival was taking place in the beginning of July) this year’s edition even though seemed less visited than previously it was more creative and had more on the menu for the musical breaks- more food stalls, more activities. Hammer lifting, face painting, axe throwing and plenty of other stuff, oh, and can’t forget to mention the performances by The Southern Skirmish Association “Soskan” re- enacting American Civil War.

My only grumble for the organizers is on the constant clashing of bands playing on different stages. Even though there were loads of people who reserved their spot for one particular stage, the quite expensive ticket price would not quite suit the others who wonder around and want to see more bands. Apart from that I had a great weekend and met lots of lovely people.
