Swanfest @ City National Grove, Anaheim, California, March 30, 2019
First Swanfest, 2019, and can’t wait for many more to come. When you first arrive General Admission already had a line going around not one but two corners. The VIP line was fairly long too, but both lines moved along quickly to get everyone in the event.
Walking into the event you noticed two stages: to your right is Stage 2 and to your left is Stage 1. The event consisted of 16 bands: 9 bands played on Stage 1, while the other 7 played on Stage 2. Since the majority of the bands I wanted to shoot were on Stage 1, I mainly stayed in that area. However, I was still able to see a few Stage 2 bands perform and they did amazing.
Stage 2 had a great lineup: Wolf & Bear, Thousand Below, Royal Coda, Eidola, Strawberry Girls, Covet, and Hail The Sun.
At Stage 1 there was: Sianvar, Volumes, Intervals, Veil Of Maya, Don Broco, We Came As Romans, Crown The Empire, Periphery, and Dance Gavin Dance.
Swanfest did a great job of who they wanted to perform at this event and the crowd couldn’t agree more.
First band on Stage 1: Sianvar, an American Progressive Rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2013. Members include vocalist Donovan Melero, guitarists Will Swan & Sergio Medina, and drummer Joseph Arrington.
Second band, Volumes, is an American Progressive Metalcore band from Los Angeles, formed in 2009. Members: vocalist Gus Farias & Myke Terry, guitarists Aaron Marshall & Diego Farias, bassist Radd Soudan, and drummer Nathan Ursich.
Third band, Intervals, is a Canadian Progressive Metal band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2011. Members: guitarists Aaron Marshall & Thomas Griggs, bassist Jacob Umansky, and drummer Nathan Bulla.
Fourth band, Veil Of Maya, is an American Metalcore band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2004. Members: vocalist Lukas Magyar, guitarist Marc Okubo, bassist Danny Hauser, and drummer Sam Applebaum.
Fifth band, Don Broco, is a British Rock band from Bedford, England, formed in 2008. Members: vocalist Rob Damiani, guitarist Simon Delany, bassist Tom Doyle, and drummer Matt Donnelly.
Sixth band, We Came As Romans, is an American Metalcore band from Troy, Michigan, formed in 2005. Members; vocalist Dave Stephens, guitarists Joshua Moore & Lou Cotton, bassist Andy Glass, and drummer David Puckett.
Seventh band, Crown The Empire, is an American Metalcore band from Dallas, Texas, formed in 2010. Members: vocalist Andrew “Andy Leo” Velasquez, guitarist Brandon Hoover, bassist Hayden Tree, and drummer Brent Taddie.
Eighth band, Periphery, is an American Progressive Metal band from Washington D.C., formed in 2005. Members: vocalist: Spencer Sotelo, guitarist Misha Mansoor, Jake Bowen, & Mark Holcomb, and drummer Matt Halpern.
Ninth band, Dance Gavin Dance, is an American Rock band from Sacramento, California, formed in 2005. Members: vocalists Jon Mess & Tilian Pearson, guitarist Will Swan, bassist Tim Feerick, and drummer Matt Mingus.
