This is groove rock at its finest and I dare say it will have the heavy metal and hard rock worlds talking for a long time to come. This is a 2012 must have.
With that being said, grab your headphones, turn down the lights and let the music take over. This is an album not to be missed.
Jason Wellwood in conversation with JAG PANZER guitarist Mark Briody about their new album The Scourge Of The Light
Along with Iced Earth, Jag Panzer remains the cream of the crop for American Power Metal. Welcome back boys, nice to have you.
Back by popular demand, here are the Staff Playlists for February 2011!
Glorious Collision is a beautiful record and with the embracing of some more mellow and melodic sounds, they’ll not only please long time fans but may find some new fans from the hard rock world coming out to shows as well.
One of the optional categories that all Hellbound contributors were asked to write about in our year end polls was their favourite Metal DVD of 2010. As it was optional – and because not all of us watched music DVDs in 2010 – not everyone has participated but I think that it is obvious from those that had a favourite to offer that the new RUSH documentary Beyond The Lighted Stage was hands down the favourite, followed by the Norwegian black metal documentary Until The Light Takes Us. Here are the individual favourite Metal DVDs of 2010, alphabetical by writer.
Lords Of Depravity Part II is an amazingly thorough, well-put together package but it might just be way too much for the beginner Sodom fan. At a running time of over six hours there is a shitload of Sodom to be had for a reasonable price.
“Touring is the greatest fun in the world for me! I love being out on the road, but I wish I could see some of the cities! Rome? Yeah, it was great! It was a black room with amplifiers and another room on the side with cocks drawn all over the wall…oh and Paris was like that as well, wasn’t it? And Greece was like that with a hangover on the airplane! I’m well traveled!”
Jason Wellwood interviews shock rock vocalist ZODIAC MINDWARP about the release of his new album We Are Volsung.
People reading this review will probably be split in two groups: the people who have no frackin’ clue who Zodiac Mindwarp is and the people who thought he died after 1988’s Tattooed Beat Messiah. There might be a couple of you who know that Zodiac has been (not so) quietly making new records and playing gigs ever since being dropped from his label in 1990. However, this is the first record in 20 years that actually has a label attached to it with any sort of clout and SPV have jumped on at an absolutely brilliant point. We Are Volsung is a monster hard rock record!
Jason Wellwood praises the latest release from the relatively obscure Zodiac Mindwarp, who together with The Love Reaction, have released a gem entitled “We Are Volsung”
