		<description>I actually had an exchange with a label rep about a low quality rip that had been sent, and the response was &#039;That&#039;s what I&#039;ve got&#039;. Needless to say, the songs didn&#039;t get played. My show/station doesn&#039;t need to sound like crap because labels don&#039;t care. It&#039;s funny, if you speak to artists, a lot of them want to send you .wav or .flac files so there is no compression loss. Of course, then you have storage issues...</description>

		<description>I agree totally, and all that applies to digital servicing to writers as well. As alluded to in the comment about liner notes, one thing we need more of from bands and labels is access to lyrics. If an album has lyrics in the CD booklet, you&#039;ve got to make those available to the media as well.

That said, having written about metal music and outside metal, I can say that 90% of metal labels are so far ahead of major labels and non-metal indies when it comes to safe, traceable digital promos that it&#039;s not even funny.</description>
