Franc, Sword are definitely an excellent choice too. I know one of our writers, Rob, was close to picking it but went with Kick Axe.

I’ve never liked Annihilator myself. Not sure why.

How about Sword? Metalized and Sweet Dreams are my fav Canadian metal albums of all time…Voivod as a band, my favorite for sure!!! Love Nothingface but started off with War & Pain then have been following their career ever since!

Annihilator’s 3rd album, Set the Word On Fire should also be checked out!!!

I personally think “MERCILESS” MATT and LAURA WIEBE TAYLOR are awsome.

I actually thought about both Martyr and the Smalls, as well as Sacrifice and Anvil. All have put out excellent albums that could very well have been picked.

Scott, I think if there were more Western Canadian contributors then the Smalls probably would have been picked. I still can’t figure out how they were so huge west of Ontario and so unknown from Ontario eastwards!

Malhavoc Premeditated Murder came to mind first…It’s not 100% metal but seemed to be connected more to metal circles than industrial ones.

I can’t believe no one gave any love to Martyr’s Feeding the Abscess. I know it’s right on the borderline of metal, but an album by the smalls would not have been out of place on a list so heavy on the Voivod.

If I had to pick a dark horse album (one that might make my top five), it would be Sacred Blade’s Of the Sun + Moon.

Terria would have been my choice as well. It’s my favourite album to cook to! It sounds fantastic on a big sound system.
